Just Jack

I love this little man!  He has gotten much bigger lately, he is now almost 3, I cannot believe it!  This page was completed from a Basic Grey Page of the Month Kit.  I never really follow the instructions however they are supplied in the kit and when you become part of my BG Page of the month Club you will get the opportunity the participate in the page class each month for no extra cost. The class will take place at my studio!

All that Jazz

 I love Basic Grey! The papers are so fun and whimsical!  Sometimes I look at myself and go yikes how can I put those crazy patterns together.  This layout id that to me.....Somehow though when the papers layered together they still look great.  Here is a fun photo tip: if you are like me and take photos of busy children, such as the dance photos int his layout.  Crop your photos in a unique way to give them like a film strip look in order to gather the focus of the photo onto your little person.  Sienna and Montana had lots going on in these photos so it was a challenge to get the focus on them! I think it was a success!!!

Like chipboard?  I love it, I also have a sick obsession with washi tape!  I combined the two on these banner wood  pieces and added some test washi to give it some playfullness!!!!

Best in Show

I love these girls!  They are neighbors and friends and they dance together too!  You could call that a tripple-threat!  I love it!  I enjoyed the basic grey papers with whimsical colours to match so perfect with the Tatum and Sienna's costumes...crazy clowns!  I pulled in some sky blue CTMH cardstock to match Melina's costume!  They all danced beautifully and I am so proud of our girls!!!!

Lily

Awe Lily, you are one of the weirdest cats I have ever known. We have so many names for you, the kids call you LiL, and sometimes "rat-tail" cuz your tail is so small.  You are so small, really,  And sometimes we call you "Spill" because your belly spills out when you sit down!  Thats love Lily!  I enjoyed making this single page layout.  The vibrant blues of this photo called for a striking page so I used a grain pattern from Kaiser Kraft and their denim as well. CTMH cardstock to break it up a bit.  Then load it up with flowers and embellies.  I love this page, the best part if the pipe cleaner flowers.  I learned the day that I made this page when I was at Unique Retreat, a number of teachers were also there and they told be they are called cochineal sticks....I laughed and laughed, seriously??/!!!!  

Getting Back to BLOGGIN!

WOW Blog I missed you soooooo much!  So happy that I have time for my passion again!!!

My Honey!  I love this man!  He is my world and really that is all...  I had some fun with the Basic Grey paper, added a little CTMH embellies, and washi tape too!  Trends in scrapbooking are all about crazy layerings.  Have fun with it ladies!

I had so much fun with this page of my super cute yet really bad kitty Lily.  She is very naughty and now over a year old but still gets in so much trouble!!!!  Oh well she is so prim and proper when she sits and poses for the camera! So "fancy" I was able to use some fun new product from Basic Grey, in face aside from the Close to My Heart craft borders it is all basic grey!!!

A fish!!!!

This was a great palette and a awesome sketch by Christine!!!!  I love this colours although they were a bit of a challenge but that is what makes this so fun.  I must say it has been tough battling the busy season to find time to scrap, but I am very happy with the way this turned out!!! Despite the fact I had to rush to get it done....sorry girls at Color-Me-Scrappy be sure to check out all the teams awesome work those gals have some super cute ideas! This one was fun because we had to use kraft paper, i love how this TWO pager turned out, i had a ton of fun with this awesome kit from Basic Grey!!!  I am sorry for my slow blogging these days another few days and I will be back in the saddle again, I just stared a new job so life has been BUSY!!!!

Puppy Love - Sketchabilities

This was a fun page to complete and as always Karan's sketches at Sketchabilities  are awesome to work with.  I have really enjoyed being part of this team, be sure to check out the rest of the teams work and play along for your chance to win a FABULOUS prize!  For this page I used Basic Grey's paper and embellies, some Core'dinations cardstock and American Crafts Thickers.  Simple and cute that is a great fir for my little Sienna.  She looks so cute in her costume for her one dance routine.  They danced to "Who Let the Dogs Out".  How cute is that!  

Sketchabilities....Love

This is my take on Sketch # 77 at Sketchabilities  This was a great sketch it really gave me a challenge!!  I used What'sUp paper from Basic Grey which picked up the purple in Sienna's dress so well.  I enjoy spending time with my daughter and I can't think of a better way to bond then in a filed full of strawberries!

This has got to be one of my most random pages EVER!  This is my take on Challenge #10 at Color-Me-Scrappy  I have to say that these are not colours I would have used together at all, so "challenge" this was indeed!  It's weird because although it is random, I really like it!  I guess it's because I love all the "stuff" on it despite, the fact that it doesn't really "go" together, it's kind of like the "awkward geek" we all knew in high-school ( or maybe you were the awkward geek...I am not judging at all, I was friends with lots of geeks!), underneath their outward odd-ness they are really great people to know, in fact some of my better friends to this day!!!  That is what this page is to me awkward but GREAT!  Great, because this day was a very special day last year about a week after we moved away and it was a day that we spent being a new family of three. Sounds kind of sad, sure it was, but it was a lot of good too!

My Men

My post for Scrap'n With Flair this month I used a few left over bits and pieces from my July Plumeria Kit I added some extra goodies I picked up from the store as well!  I made this page about my sweet men, John and Carter, love those guys and who says they have to be in a “manly” layout right?!  I really enjoyed last months kit it had a ton of embellies and loads of paper I have made 6 layouts, a few cards and decorated the graphic 45 box with it.  Of course I did add some other goodies too, but all from my Scrap’n With Flair stash, I don’t know anyone else who loves flowers as much as I do!!! I also used some decorative tiles from Prima and my Tim Holtz distress inks!

Anyway hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of summer I know we will be…

Stair Flowers

I just love this photo!  I caught them at the perfect moment all looking at their flowers, one on each step.  I did not plan this at all which makes it so memorable, I love it!

I used paper from the Plumeria Line of Basic Grey, I also used the co-ordinating buttons, tags, border and stickers.  I cut out some shapes with a Memory Box Die and embellished with I am Roses and Prima flowers.

I joined the Basic Grey page of the month club that my mother is running, I love the products they include and have never to this day copied the layout they give you...I just join the club for the fun new stuff!!! :)

It turned out that the Scrap'n With Flair kit for July was the same line from Basic Grey so I have really enjoyed these products and have pretty much used every piece of paper I had YAY! 

Graphic 45 Box from Scrap'n With Flair

This Graphic 45 Box came in my July Kit from Scrap'n With Flair I love how it turned out.  I will admit I was a little stumped at first on what to do with the box.  That moment of challenge is why I love to be on a design teams...."I have these products in front of me..now how can I use them to make this stuff look awesome"  That is what goes through my head and usually with out real "plan" I let my creativity take over and see what I come up with.  In the words of Vicki Boutin, "sometimes happy accidents happen" but they make the best ideas!  I used mostly products from the kit with a few additions from my stash.  I also used some of the Memory Box dies I purchased from Scrap'n With Flair as well.

Inside the box is a cute accordion paper fold, and I used that to create a little mini, that when I decide who I am going  to give this to I will fill with photos and notes to that person,
I am thinking my niece Lyla might really like this!  She loves pretty things...

Treasured Friend

I am doing a swap with the Muskoka Buy and Sell girls and so I made these cards for the swap.  I used the leftovers of my Plumeria Line from my July Scrap'n with Flair kit.  Leanne still has some left so be sure to click on the link to get your kit today before they are gone.  I hope the gals in the swap like the cards, I am looking forward to getting cards in return!

Art Journal Canvas

Well I was resistant at first and I don't know why...I had not tried this "art journalling" before and I was provided a prefect combination of opportunity and inspiration from my co-designers at Scrap'n With Flair (those ladies are so talented) and the Art on the Severn Art Show I help organize decided to have some committee members show their work as well.

I used the Scrap'n With Flair July Plumeria Kit and some old canvases I had kicking around!  I also used mat gel medium and gesso to get the first few layers down.  Then added some great embellies some from my stash but most of the flowers, bling, pearls, jewels and trim were from the add-on kit. Then I played with adding some colour by using inks that came in the kit and some acrylic paint.

My partner and I just bought a house so we are going to put these in our new living room!
